Dodecanese

The largest island of the Dodecanese, covering a total area of 1398 km2, is one of the best developed tourist locations in Greece. This development has not destroyed the natural environment. Paths, traditional villages, and an infinite number of beaches, the Valley of the Butterflies, with its remarkable moths, the lakes and rivers with the unique fish called “gizani”, the forests with the Platoni deer of Rhodes, numerous protected plant species, mountains, woods, parks, springs, valleys and caves attracting nature lovers irrespective of tourist services.
